“They say the music is not in the notes, but in the silence between. Similarly, in spatial design, the beauty does not stem merely from the structure or the tangible elements. It is born from the emptiness that punctuates the space”.
As the age-old saying conveys, first impressions are crucial. It is as truer for a home as it is for a person. This intriguing design employs a sequence of minimalist geometric shapes to escape the monotony of a singular plain façade and create a more three-dimensional and dynamic elevation. The simplicity of the design also ensures that it retains a sense of tranquility and graceful elegance.

Conceptual Design portraying Luxury living and Minimalism. This House, in the heart of Pitakotte, impeccably balances the internal spaces with elegantly contrasting exterior elements.
Minimalist and captivating, this home is an amalgamation of cubic and modern vernacular architecture. The inclusion of large sliding doors, as well as the indoor courtyard complete with a reflecting pond, enhance the interplay between the inner spaces and nature, and will render the space more congruous with its tropical backdrop.

-these houses are designed incorporating modern, minimalist, cubic architecture. Reflecting this minimalist approach, the structures include a minimum number of walls and emphasize on open spaces. The multiple balcony terraces as well as tall window openings bring in abundant natural light and ensure proper air flow through the inner spaces.

The primary focus of the design of this residence was to create a space that is imbued with a sense of calm and serenity. This will crucial as the client has a busy and strenuous work life. Thus, the architecture employs simple geometric shapes and a minimum number of walls, which help compose expansive volumes of space that immediately produce a feel of relaxation. To augment this quality, the design spaces are then open up to an indoor courtyard that captures the essence of the outdoors.

The public spaces of the home, including the formal and informal living and dining sections designed drawing focus to this serene indoor reflective pond/courtyard complete with a shrine area in order to achieve this specific objective. Inclusion of a water feature, along with the use of natural stone and timber elements, will imparts a sense of tranquility to the home interior and creates a restful, inviting atmosphere. The inclusion of an indoor courtyard/reflective pond ensures proper ventilation and brings in sufficient sunlight into the home interior. Portraying an open concept, the living and dining space employs a minimum walls and full-height, slidable glass panes, and opens on one end to the triple-height indoor courtyard and on the other, to a strip garden. A melting pot of diverse styles encompassing contemporary, rustic and Sri Lankan traditional design elements, this space radiates an aura of colorful excitement.
